此钱币珠圈内铸有“光绪元宝”四字，上铸“河南省造”，下铸“当制钱十文”，标明其钱值。背面铸有四爪飞龙，其图案圆润凸起，错落有致，有立体雕塑之感。此币铜质细腻，呈色亦佳，品相精致，钱文清晰，为币中珍品。

【发行背景】

河南造币厂有两部分组成，中间隔着一个机器局。光绪三十年在省城南门外三里堡机械局以西建一个小厂，接着又在以北建一大厂，同年十月开始铸造，直至光绪三十二年裁并令下，开封局名改为“度支部造币汴厂”，直至1908年停止铸造，从未间断铸造，河南省造光绪元宝铜币的正面主图案在全国独树一帜，是以一太极图案至于正中，太极图又有不少变化，有阴刻、阳刻、横刻、直刻的数种，背面龙纹相对变化不大，并且只发行了十文版，没有其他面值发行。
