光绪元宝是清代光绪年间特有的一种货币，是大清光绪年流通大面值货币之首，有着清朝货币特征。清朝末年，朝野上下发生了银元单位之争，币制未统一。由于当时时局不稳定，因此几乎在全国的各个省都有专门的货币铸造厂。因此我们会发现那个时代的货币上都有鲜明的铸字，标明是哪个省的造币厂铸造的。

 钱币背面外环英文，中间主体图案为一条五爪龙，四只龙爪皆张开，龙头正面朝人，龙眼圆睁，龙体布满龙鳞，龙鳍清晰可辨，龙尾分七叉。整条龙被云朵环绕。此枚钱币边齿分明，略有磨损，包浆自然，保存较为完好，历史过渡痕迹也很明显，具有较高的历史考究价值和文化收藏价值。
