背景——光绪二十四年(1898年)开铸，四川省造币厂铸行，有七钱二分、三钱六分、一钱四分四厘 、七分二厘、三分六厘五等。根据币面书体不同而分楷书、行书两类。另有英文字母错版、大头龙灯、小头龙藏、四角龙、无头库等。光绪二十五年(1899年)清廷整顿各地造币厂，令四川所需银元向湖北省银元局搭铸，该币一度停铸。光绪二十七年(1901年)重新开铸，至光绪三十四年(1908年)止。
