民国元年(公元1912年)，意大利雕刻师乔治受聘于天津造币厂镌刻模具，并由天津造币厂铸造了袁世凯着军装高樱冠正面像中华民国共和纪念银币，民国二年(公元1913年)十月十日，袁世凯正式就任大总统，同时发行此币。该币设计考究，铸工精良，传世稀少，较为珍贵。

In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Italian sculptor George was employed to carve the mould in Tianjin Mint. Yuan Shikai, dressed in military uniform and with a high cherry crown, was coined by Tianjin Mint. On October 10, 1913, Yuan Shikai took office as President of the Republic of China and issued the coin. The coin is exquisite in design, exquisite in workmanship and rare in inheritance. 

此枚袁世凯像纪念币直径3.94厘米，重26.7克正面镌袁世凯着军装高樱冠正面像。反面珠圈内镌嘉禾图案环；中间竖镌“壹圆”两字；珠圈外上环镌“中华民国共和纪念币”九字；下环镌英文壹圆；左右镌各一方形有内四点外四点花饰。此币材质优良，形制规整，成色均匀，老道纯真，钱文饱满，工整深俊。钱币历经漫长的历史洗涤后，呈现出自然的包浆与锈色，异常精美，于严谨中透着秀气，端庄中带有质朴古雅的气韵美和结构美，韵味浓郁，极具收藏价值。
