缠丝玛瑙是各种颜色以丝带形式相间缠绕的一种玛瑙，因相间色带细如游丝，所以称为缠丝玛瑙，古时称为截子玛瑙。在藏区缠丝玛瑙珠一般被称为“琼”，其珍贵度仅次于天珠。藏区各个时代的老缠丝都有存在，年代最远的缠丝玛瑙历史可追溯至公元前1500年前，战汉时期、唐宋时期以及辽金时期都有一定的遗存数量，新出土的和千年传世的珠子也都有存在，老出土再经千年传世且品相一流的珠子当属顶级老珠，可遇不可求。缠丝玛瑙中有极个别的带天然眼睛纹理的珠子，这种珠子是缠丝玛瑙里的珍品，其与一般的缠丝不在一个等级上，一般视同于天珠，且按眼睛的形态形状，价格会有所不同，好的带眼老缠丝价格已逼超百万级，普通不带眼的好缠丝价值也是不菲，通常会以百万论价，据介绍，在国外，珠子是收藏的一大门类之一，然而过去这一类收藏在国内较为冷门。近年来，随着不少藏家将古代珠子用现代的审美眼光重新搭配串连，不仅被赋予了装饰欣赏功能，也使得这些藏品的身价不断上涨。古代珠饰当中，频频亮相拍卖会的天珠，近两年身价增长为迅速，价格不断攀升，让很多收藏爱好者咋舌。10年前，天珠价格一颗仅几万元左右，现在品相好的天珠价格动辄在数百万元一颗，有的高达几千万元。随国内老珠的收藏热潮，普通的老缠丝价格也是月月攀高。缠丝玛瑙中有极个别的带天然眼睛纹理的珠子，这种珠子是缠丝玛瑙里的珍品，其与一般的缠丝不在一个等级量上，一般视同于天珠。

 

由于开矿技能的薄弱，古人只能拣选玛瑙籽料磨制成品，取料、加工极为繁琐，更限定了缠丝玛瑙的高端品级。在中原流行近２０００年后，缠丝勒子逐渐被大批量出矿的玛瑙糖料（琼玉）所取代，进而演化出新一轮的饰品潮流。在其新老交替的过程中，绝大多数的缠丝玛瑙勒子被中原商人贩往西北（或回流西亚）、云南和藏区，藏人的丧葬风俗，则决定了如今藏区还能见到传世缠丝勒子，而中原的缠丝玛瑙传世极少。该藏品为藏家家传之宝，品相保存很好，及其珍贵，值得收藏。

Because of the weakness of mining skills, the ancients could only select agate seed grinding products, which was very cumbersome to obtain and process, and even limited the high-end grade of silk-twisted agate. Nearly 2000 years after its popularity in the Central Plains, silk-twisted silks were gradually replaced by agate sugars (Qiongyu), which were produced in large quantities, thus evolving a new trend of jewelry. In the process of the alternation between old and new, most of the silk-twisted agate were trafficked to the Northwest (or back to West Asia), Yunnan and Tibet by the traders of Central Plains. The funeral custom of Tibetans determines that the silk-twined agate can still be seen in Tibetan areas today, while the silk-twined agate in Central Plains is seldom handed down. The collection is a treasure handed down by collectors. It is well preserved and precious, and worth collecting.
