光绪年间，腐败没落的晚清王朝，为了求得一时的安定，对外连年割地赔款，又加之外国列强的巧取豪夺，致使中国大量白银流失，清政府在李鸿章等大臣的倡议下，为了抵制和取缔外国成色不足的洋钱，特批准由两广总督李鸿章，在英国购进了先进的铸币机器设施，率先在广东建立了中国第一个铸币厂，试铸成功后，全国各省争先恐后的相继效仿，各自建立属于自己省份的铸币厂，一时间铸币厂在中国风生水起。所铸造的光绪元宝版本繁多。

At that time, mints began to emerge in China. There are many versions of Guangxu Yuanbao.

在1899年，清政府想收回北洋造币厂的铸币权，后经荣禄等大臣保奏，方使北洋铸币厂保留了下来。几经周折，北洋铸币厂所铸造的光绪元宝为数不多，流通于世的相对其他元宝的数量也较少，随着时光的流逝，北洋造的光绪元宝也大量的遗失。仅存于世的寥寥无几。

此藏品正面珠圈内刻有满汉文“光绪元宝”，圈外上环刻有“北洋造”，下环刻有“库平七钱二分”六字，左右各一圆点心。背面中心为蟠龙图，上下环英文，左侧有阿拉伯数字“34”，左右亦各有一圆点心。蟠龙眼神灵异炯炯有神；龙鳞雕刻细密有致，腾云驾雾，身姿遒劲有力；龙身盘踞太阳，尽展皇家威严大气。其字体笔法流畅，纹饰刻制工细，颇有艺术造诣。在历经岁月之后至今虽尽显斑驳古意，但仍不失熠熠光彩，整体设计画面优雅，雕刻精细，极具收藏价值。

The center of the back is Panlong, the upper and lower rings are in English. On the left is the Arabic numeral "34", and there is also a round snack on the left and left. The dragon's eyes are exquisite and divine; the Dragon scales are delicately carved, cloudy and powerful; the dragon's body covers the sun, displaying the Royal majesty. Its style is fluent, its decoration and carving are meticulous, and it has artistic attainments. Despite the mottled ancient meaning, it still shines brilliantly. The overall design picture is elegant and the sculpture is exquisite, which is of great collection value.
