光绪元年（1875年），时任陕甘总督的左宗棠，以钦差大臣名义督办新疆军务。光绪3年率军入疆，平定阿古柏之乱，始铸新疆光绪银币。至光绪33年，始铸喀什大清银币，而湘平一两，存世稀少，无论是价值，还是存世量，远非是饷银、壬子、迪化几种一两可以相提并论的。其次，此枚大清银币属于机制币中的试机币，数量极其稀少，堪称限量版的大清银币。喀什是中国最西部主要城市，受中亚文化影响很深，喀什铸的银圆成色高。光绪年间左宗棠督办新疆后，喀什厂所铸银圆正面用大清银币休制。因左宗棠本人和其所属军队多数是湖南(简称湘)人，所以各种币重都用湘平计量。

 

正面：正中点圈内“大清银币”上面“喀什道”，下面为“湘平式两”(壹字如此写法颇少见，在中国银圆上只得三例，均系罕品)，左面为回文年号1325年即公元1907年。背面：正中龙外有点圈，左面为叶枝，右面则似花枝，极为稀少。

In the 33rd year of Guangxu, the Kashgar silver coins were cast, and Xiangping one or two, rare in the world, no matter the value, or the existence of the world, far from the silver, the scorpion, the Dihua, one or two can be compared. Secondly, this large clear silver coin belongs to the test machine currency in the mechanism currency, and the quantity is extremely rare.
