石陨石

陨石(uranolite)是指来自地球以外太阳系其他天体的碎片，绝大多数来自位于火星和木星之间的小行星，少数来自月球(40块）和火星（40块）。

它们大致可分为三大类：石陨石（主要成分是硅酸盐)、铁陨石（铁镍合金）、和石铁陨石（铁和硅酸盐混合物）。根据岩石结构有无球粒存在而分为球粒陨石和非球粒陨石两大类;根据整体化学成分,球粒陨石被分为碳质球粒陨石、普通球粒陨石和顺火辉石球粒陨石类。非球粒陨石的第三级分类也是根据化学(矿物)组成进行的,岩石(矿物)含钙量高的叫富钙无球粒陨石,含钙低的叫贫钙无球粒陨石。石陨石的成分和外表都很像超基性岩,密度为3-3.5 克/厘米’。它在野外易被误认成普通岩石,所以虽其陨落数量很大,占总坠落数92%以上,但寻获数只占全部寻获陨石数的56.3%。
