至道元宝钱，书体分真、行、草三体。该钱青铜质，钱体呈熟旧的黑色氧化层，与旧钱谱记载的其钱直径和重量相符。至道元宝行书光背，有铜，铁两种。李如森著《中国古代铸币》第235页云:“（至道元宝钱）系御书钱。按太宗酷爱书法，淳化三年，命王著审定历代法帖，定名《淳化阁帖》。”宋太宗将《淳化阁帖》运用到“至道元宝”真、行、草三体书法的心得和墨迹。
