The French Indian zhina Trade Silver Dollar, commonly known as "sitting in the ocean" and officially named Annan Silver Dollar, also known as "sitting in the person" and "Faguang", is one of the foreign silver dollars circulating in China in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Because the wreath on the head of the statue of liberty cast on the front of this silver coin has seven beams of light, commonly known as "seven horns." All kinds of foreign ships were issued intermittently until 1937, when they were announced due to the shadow of the war. Looking at the circulation over the years, from 1903 to 1923, Zuoyang was the most arrogant, casting millions to tens of millions each year.

At that time, French Indian zhina referred to the eastern part of the Indian zhina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It included Tokyo (northern Vietnam), Annan (central Vietnam), zhina (southern Vietnam), Laos and Cambodia, with a total area of over 740,000 square kilometers. In 1858, France's Second Empire invaded and the region was successively reduced to a French colony. Seating the ocean was the colonial currency used in the region.

In the Qing Dynasty's historical materials, Ceng Jize, a minister who was on a mission to Britain and France, wrote in a letter dated June 24, 1879: "France's external Vattingen Consul said that France is now casting large-dollar silver coins for use in places such as Annan and other places, and intends to use them in nearby countries. He hoped that your country would accept the money and pass through the world, and hope the customs and yamen would allow it to be collected." It can be seen that France's original intention in founding a foreign country was not only to use it in colonies, but also to enter "nearby countries" including China. During this period, the foreign silver coins flowed openly into China's Yunnan and Guangxi provinces bordering India's zhina region, and even penetrated into Guangdong and Fujian. Together with foreign silver coins such as Benyang, Yingyang, Zhanyang and Japan's Long Yang, they participated extensively in the circulation of China's folk trade. Therefore, it has also become a physical proof of France's economic aggression against China in history.

France started casting in 1885 and stopped casting in 1928, which lasted 43 years. Except for 1892, 1911, 1912, 1914-1920 and 1923, other 32 years have been published. Statistics are made according to the arrangement and combination of the year number, weight and marks, and the total number of foreign seats is 38 formats. For example, from 1885 to 1895, the weight was 27.215 grams, and from 1895 to 1928, the weight was reduced to 27 grams.

This 1905 silver coin sits on a foreign plate. The front of the silver coin is a statue of the Statue of Liberty holding a bundle of sticks. The decorative pattern on the back is wheat ears. The French words cast on both sides are "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE". Below the Goddess's throne are the small French word "BARRE" and the year 1905 when the coin was issued. The main pattern on the back of the silver coin is a wreath, the circle is the explanatory text, French is "FRANCAISE INDO-CHINE" cast above the wreath, and the horizontal text in the middle of the wreath is the denomination "PIASTRE DE COMMERCE" of the silver coin. The inscription below the silver garland reads "TITRE 0.900 POIDS 27 GR (containing 900 thousandths of silver and weighing 27 grams)". The Chinese paraphrase of the words on the back of the whole silver coin is: French (affiliated) Indian zhina (silver coin). One trade silver dollar weighs 27 grams. The local currency is 1905 reverse misprint currency. This foreign currency is natural in color and luster. Whether it is written or patterned, it looks natural and exquisite, with appropriate depth. The overall design is novel and the caster is exquisite. It has extremely high collection value and artistic value.
