香熏亦称香炉、熏笼，是点燃熏料驱赶蚊虫的器物，乾隆时期的珐琅器以掐丝珐琅为主，工艺独特细腻精湛，因珐琅器多为皇室制作，遂形成了乾隆时期特有的繁缛华丽，丰满厚重的艺术格调。使用香熏的习俗在我国由来已久，自两汉以来，历朝历代一直延续不断。古代较早的香熏均为陶瓷烧制。明清时代香熏的制作和使用进入了一个非常繁荣的时期。故宫内大殿、书房、内寝皆置高达三四尺的巨大熏炉，多为掐丝珐琅等景泰蓝的精品，也有铸铜鎏金、錾刻精美的极品，彰显豪华高贵的皇室气派。当时的文人雅士，也多喜欢在书案上陈设造型各异、纹饰典雅的香熏炉，以营造怡性逸情的高雅意境。

此香熏炉圆形，正体镂空掐丝莲纹，通体造形成三部分，器身以珐琅缠枝花为主要纹饰，掐丝精细，镀金光亮，色泽丰富，纹饰富丽华贵，工艺高超，十分霸气。实为佳作。至清朝后期才作为商品出现于民间。据相关史料，景泰蓝出口自道光年间方才开始。器身凹棱，掐丝珐琅作龙纹主题。蓝地之上，赤、橙、黄、绿多彩装点，铜丝镶嵌细腻精致。此炉，制作得很精美，庄重而华丽，品相极美，具有极高的观赏价值和艺术价值，是一件罕见的珍品。
