到了汉代,玉的造型、工艺、种类诸方面都达到了一个很高水平,特别在手法风格殓葬风气应用方面均已登峰造极。由于古代生产力十分低下,雕琢玉器只能用解玉砂来研磨。和田玉的硬度高,不可能用刀刻成,它是用"铊具"琢出来的,古代玉器都是通过砣机加上解玉砂对玉进行碾琢。每个时代都有自己的特点,如石家河文化的减地阳线、殷商的双钩拟阳线、西周的一面坡阴线、汉代的游丝毛雕、汉八刀的琢工等等。特别是汉八刀工艺,真的"八刀工",都是下"刀"既准又狠,起刀收刀,干净利落,而且多为"斜刀",即一面浅,一面深。而现代工艺是用高速旋转的雕机,由于转速不同,肯定在所加工的玉器上留有不同的痕迹,特别是阴刻线等尤为明显。线条槽口两侧边上有"爆刀发毛"现象,多数为现代机器工。

It starts with the knife and ends with the knife. It is clean and neat, and it is mostly "oblique knife", that is, one side is shallow and the other side is deep. However, modern technology uses a high-speed carving machine. Due to different rotating speeds, there are definitely different marks left on the jade articles processed, especially the negative carving lines. On both sides of the line notch, there is a phenomenon of "blasting knife hair", most of which are modern machinists.
