嘉庆通宝中国古代钱币之一，铸于清仁宗嘉庆年间(1796-1820年)。钱径2.2-2.6厘米，重2-4克。钱面文字"嘉庆通宝"以楷书书写，从上而下而右而左直读。钱背满文左"宝"，右为满文铸造钱局名，如泉、源、苏、河、广等。

清代钱币特点:一皇帝只用一种年号钱，虽铸量大而形制较简单;除个别例外，所有年号钱均称通宝，钱文:皆为工整楷书，读法均对读，除个别例外。

嘉庆通宝小平钱其直径23毫米，重4克。钱体呈暗褐色包浆，锈色得体、自然，质地为精质黄铜生坑品。嘉庆通宝十分稀贵，制作工艺相当精致，极为平整，字口十分清晰。

当前，随着清钱收藏的持续走热，清代各个年号的钱币价格都有所上涨。再加上乾隆、嘉庆、道光三钱有“钱到家”的美好寓意，收藏群体越来越多，而市场上能够遇到的美品却越来越少，有非常大的增加空间。仍尤其是此两枚乾隆通宝、嘉庆通宝，同为五帝钱之一，存世数量稀疏，其保藏和增值空间不可限量。
