中国书法艺术载体之一。在纸张发明之前，古人大都将文字书写在竹或木制成的薄而细长的片上，称简牍或简书;或者书写在丝织品上，称为帖 。在造纸发明以后，凡书写在纸或丝织品上的、篇幅较小的文字均称之为帖。

王献之（344年－386年），字子敬，小名官奴，汉族，祖籍琅玡临沂（今山东省临沂市兰山区），生于会稽山阴（今浙江省绍兴市）。东晋著名书法家、诗人、画家，“书圣”王羲之第七子、晋简文帝司马昱之婿。

Wang Xianzhi (344-386) , Zi Jing, Xiao Ming Guan Nu, Han nationality, ancestral home of Langya (Lanshan district, Linyi City, Shandong Province) , was born in Huiji Shanyin (Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province) . East Jin famous calligrapher, poet, painter, "book Saint" Wang Xizhi seventh son, Jin Emperor Jianwen Sima Yu's son-in-law.

在唐代由于帝王的喜爱，出现勾摹前人墨迹集帖。到宋代又出现了汇集历代名家书法墨迹，将其镌刻在石或木板上，然后拓成墨本并装裱成卷或册的刻帖。这种刻帖既使古人的书法得以流传，并扩大其影响，又是学习书法的范本，故又称之为法帖。

此藏品为《淳化阁帖》法帖，北宋淳化年间刻於“秘阁”。淳化三年（992年），宋太宗命翰林侍画王著将内府所藏自汉至唐名迹，摹刻为《淳化秘阁法帖》十卷。《阁帖》刻成后，内府用澄心堂纸、李廷珪墨搨印。宋人记载：“熙陵武定四方，载毂矢文汉之余，留意翰墨，用计出御府所藏后代真迹，命侍画王著模记禁中，釐为十卷。”极为罕见，具有相当高的收藏价值，是收藏的大类，历来都受到很多藏家的关注，值得藏家深品。
