霍玉山，出生于1961年，辽宁人。霍玉山毕业于鲁迅美术学院，进修于清华大学美术学院，大学副教授，霍玉山现为国家一级美术师、中国美术家协会辽宁会员、中国艺术教育研究院主任、中国当代花鸟研究院副院长。霍玉山师从于郭西河（吴昌硕嫡传弟子王雪涛入室弟子）、朱乃正、王盛烈、孙恩同等名师。霍玉山爱好学习，拜师多人，是吴昌硕再传弟子，徐悲鸿再传弟子，吴作人嫡传弟子。

Huo Yushan is a graduate of the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, a graduate of the School of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University, and an associate professor at the university, huo Yushan is currently a national first class artist, a member of the China Artists Association, Director of the University of London and Vice President of the China Contemporary Flower and Bird Research Institute. Huo Yushan studied under Guo Xihe (a disciple of Wu Changshuo) , Zhu Naizheng, Wang Shenglie and Sun En. Huo Yushan is fond of learning and worships many people. He is Wu Changshuo's disciple again, Xu Beihong's disciple again, Wu Zuoren's disciple.

2002年，霍玉山国画《葵花正熟》获毛泽东讲话60周年美术精品展银奖；

2007年，霍玉山国画《冰冰与清清》入选全国百名国画展；

2009年，霍玉山国画《秋雨过后》，获国画艺术精品展金奖；2009年，霍玉山国画《远方的呼唤》，获“迎新春?中国画?国画精品展”中金奖；2009年，霍玉山作品《闲着没事》入选“第十一届全国美术作品展览”；

2010年，霍玉山国画《清爽的风》，获“庆祝澳门回归10周年国际美术精品展”银奖；2010年，霍玉山国画《斜阳》、《乡间小路》，获“春之梦，太行之行”写生创作优秀作品展金奖…… 

2014年9月，《人民日报》刊登霍玉山专访及作品；霍玉山先后出版有《霍玉山油画集》、《霍玉山国画集》、《霍玉山山水画集》、《霍玉山花鸟画集》等。

此藏品为霍玉山版《国花图》，是2017年金砖国家峰会时在厦门所绘，主题是:"深化金砖伙伴关系，开辟更加光明未来"。此画有十个印章，印章是字画作品中不可缺少的组成部分，缺少了印章就不成为完整的作品。印章最初是信物，起印证作用。宋、元以后，因注重了书画题跋和署款，书家们逐渐认识到印章的艺术作用并注意在作品中发挥这一作用，使书画、印合璧的艺术得以形成。书、印相映成趣，不但使作品增色，活跃气氛，起到“锦上添花”的效果，而且能调整重心，补救布局上的不足，对作品起到稳定平衡的作用。在作品上署名盖章，以示郑重，可防止伪造；盖上富有雅趣，还可寄托作者的抱负和情趣。因此历来书家都非常重视用印，甚至自己刻印，使书印有机地结合起来，产生更美更强的艺术感染力。
