齐白石是一代宗师，在其众多的弟子中，有一位聋哑人，他就是韩不言。

Qi Baishi is a great master of his generation. Among his many disciples, there is a deaf mute. He is Han Buyan.

韩不言原名韩致中，北京人，3岁时患病而聋哑。6岁时，开始学习书画。7岁时，进北京后海北河沿聋哑学校读书。1935年秋，北平举办全市中小学生图画比赛，一举夺得第一名“大银盾冠军奖”。18岁时，韩不言考入北平京华美术学院国画系，后又拜齐白石为师。齐白石为他取名“不言”。从此，他以韩不言为名作画写字。1955年春，韩不言响应国家号召，支援内地建设，先迁到了宁夏银川。后在省长邓宝珊的帮助下，调入甘肃省工艺美术厂任专职画师。从此，韩不言扎根甘肃，留下了许多故事。

Han Buyan, formerly known as Han Zhizhong, was born in Beijing and was deaf and mute when he was 3 years old. At the age of 6, he began to learn calligraphy and painting. When he was 7 years old, he went to the Haibei riverside deaf mute school in Beijing. In the autumn of 1935, Beiping held a picture competition for primary and secondary school students in Beiping, winning the first "silver shield Champion Award" in one fell swoop. At the age of 18, Han Buyan was admitted to the Department of traditional Chinese painting, Peking University of fine arts, and later took Qi Baishi as his teacher. Qi Baishi named him "Bu Yan". From then on, he painted and wrote in the name of Han Buyan. In the spring of 1955, in response to the call of the state to support the construction of the mainland, Han first moved to Yinchuan, Ningxia. Later, with the help of governor Deng Baoshan, he was transferred to Gansu arts and crafts factory as a full-time painter. From then on, Han Buyan took root in Gansu and left many stories.

齐白石78岁时，韩不言拜在了白石老人门下，前后跟随齐白石七年，学到了中国画的精髓。有一次，他临摹了一幅王石谷的作品，王石谷是清初著名的画家，为清初四王之一。他临摹完后，齐白石看了在画上戏题曰：“致中弟不做伪君子，若肯题上王石谷三字，卖与耳食着，可获千金。”可见，这时韩不言的国画创作已经达到了一个很高的水准。

When Qi Baishi was 78 years old, Han Buyan worshipped under the old man's gate of Baishi. He followed Qi Baishi for seven years and learned the essence of Chinese painting. Once, he copied a painting of Wang shigu, a famous painter in the early Qing Dynasty and one of the four kings in the early Qing Dynasty. After he finished copying, Qi Baishi looked at the title of the play on the painting and said, "to my younger brother, I don't want to be a hypocrite. If you are willing to inscribe the three characters of Wang shigu, you can get a lot of gold if you sell it to your ears." It can be seen that Han Buyan's traditional Chinese painting creation has reached a very high level.

一天，齐白石看了默默作画的韩不言，心中一动。把他叫过来写道：“你以不言作名吧！”就这样，韩致中又得名“韩不言”。这个名字来自于“石不能言最可人”这句话。

One day, Qi Baishi looked at Han Buyan, who was painting silently, and his heart moved. Call him over and write, "you should be famous for your silence." In this way, Han Zhizhong was named "Han Buyan". The name comes from the saying "stone can't be said, the most beautiful".

从这以后，他的画作上就都署名“不言”二字。

2018年1月20日上午，百余名来自全省各地藏家云集兰州古玩城，甘肃省收藏协会在此举行2017总结表彰大会。同时，展出一批收藏精品。其中有，陇上大师、白石门下韩不言的精品，展出为标价20万。

“他的画笔墨精良，功力深，韵味好。比如画鱼，就两三笔且很传神，现在画家哪有这样的功夫。”与李可染、石鲁、范曾等大家有过接触的邵军，在书画上是很有些眼光的，他对韩不言评价颇高。
