【藏品简介】：佛是印度梵语的音译简称，全称有“佛陀”、“浮屠”、“佛图”等名称，意译为“觉者”或“智者”，是圆满觉悟诸法事理、了了分明、究竟无余的一切智人。释迦牟尼佛，佛教开启者。诞生于公元前566年。释迦是一个种族名，牟尼是圣人的意思。相传他是古印度北部迦毗罗卫国，现为尼泊尔境内，净饭王的儿子。他从小善于思考，虽然自己过着舒适的生活，但有感于现实人生中的生，老，病，死等种种现象，认为要拯救人类，只有通过出家修行，才能找到解脱苦难的道路。他29岁那年，进入森林，去寻找解脱苦难的真理，经过六年含辛茹苦修行，到了35岁，终于在菩提树下修炼成功，创立了能使众生脱离苦海的佛教，成为佛教的创始人。后历尽45年的传教活动，在众弟子的哀涕声中安然进入了大般涅槃，终年八十岁。
