民国二十四年（1935年）国民政府废止银本位制，宣布实行法币政策，逐步禁止银元在市面上流通并将白银收归国有，随后开始发行新的可在市场上流通的21种版别的新镍币。民国时期镍质辅币的流通从1936年2月一直到1948年末，流通近13年的时间，时间虽短，但对促进商品流通，方便百姓生活起到了其他币种不可替代的作用。

In the twenty-fourth year of the Republic of China (1935), the National Government abolished the silver standard, announced the implementation of the French currency policy, gradually prohibited the circulation of silver in the market and nationalized silver, and then began issuing 21 new versions of nickel that could be circulated in the market. During the period of the Republic of China, the circulation of nickel auxiliary coins lasted from February 1936 to the end of 1948. 1935年国际银价大涨，国内经济日益恶化，国民政府财政部长孔祥熙11月3日宣布实行法币政策，从次日起以中央、中国、交通(1936年增加中国农民银行)三银行发行的钞票为法币，不论个人还是企业，限3个月内将白银兑换成法币。

In 1935, the international silver price rose sharply and the domestic economy deteriorated. On November 3, Kong Xiangxi, Minister of Finance of the National Government, announced the implementation of the French currency policy. From the next day, banknotes issued by the central, China and Transport (the increase of the Peasant Bank of China in 1936) were used as French currency. 此组藏品为中华民国二十九年一分币和中华民国二十九年二分币钱币正面图案为国民党党徽，上环“中华民国二十九年”，背面为中国古布币图，左右铸“一分”、“二分”，正背面沿边雕回形纹，币面纹路清晰，包浆自然，字体清秀，图案设计精美，工艺精湛，表面平整光洁，边缘无明显撞击痕迹，由于证反面均上向部打印偏移，实属异常少见，此乃精品钱币。
