  此霁蓝釉青花盘中鱼儿欢快悠游水藻间，形态写实灵动，神态温怡自然，甚为独特难得。画面通景装饰，繁而不乱，精细生动。青花色泽浓淡有致，艺匠绝技巧工，擅用钴青浓淡分五色，层次丰富多变。靛蓝画骨，浅青敷色，尽写游鱼妍姿。至于莲叶，则以针剔钴蓝，露纤白脉络，大叶曲沿上更缀苔点，巧匠或蓄意增其窑烧黑疵，营造盛极将枯、夏尽临秋之势。使整个盘面既生动又不失庄重典雅，极具艺术观赏性，值得收藏赏玩。  
蓝釉也叫霁蓝、霁蓝。曾经，古人评价颜色釉瓷器时特别看重蓝釉瓷器，究其原因，一方面是蓝釉瓷器多为高温釉，烧制难度大，另一方面则因为烧制蓝釉所用的氧化钴原料稀少。而钴是青花的呈色剂，融在釉中，即可烧成钴蓝釉，呈色十分稳定。但是色彩鲜艳的蓝釉，除釉色纯净外，尚须有洁白的胎质映衬，方能显现出蓝如宝石的理想釉色。自元代发明高温钴蓝釉后，明清时又出现了回青、洒蓝和天蓝等釉色，绚烂多彩，令人称赞。
