邹传安，字书靖，斋号“知止”，1940年生，湖南省新化县水车镇人，职业画家。自幼习画，长期致力于工笔花鸟画的研究与创作，功力深厚，艺术语言丰富。独创大面积泼彩与工笔画结合的形式，使工致的物象与元气淋漓的背景完美吻合，开拓了工笔花鸟画的新境界。作品自上世纪50年代起即参加县、地级美展，此后经常参与国内外各类展览并获奖，涉及的国家和地区有法、美、印、日、加拿大、新加坡及港、台等，有四件作品为中国美术馆收藏，百余件作品为国内外公私机构收藏。出版有《邹传安画集》、《砚絮》、《天籁——邹传安工笔花鸟画》、《工笔花鸟画技法》等。退休后客居深圳,历任中国美术家协会会员、湖南省文史研究馆馆员、湖南师大美术系客座教授、一级美术师。评论称其作品“姿彩叠变，光影幻化，富丽与雅逸并举，绮丽与灿烂共生，意象超迈”；“他的深厚学养和现代审美意识使其作品既有超脱的意境，又富有时代感，堪称源于古人，高于古人，乃中国画之一项突破”。
