瓷胎画珐琅是清代皇室自用瓷器中最具特色，釉上彩瓷中最为精美的彩瓷器。从康熙的色浓庄重至雍正的清淡素雅，到乾隆时的精密繁复的雍荣华贵，使珐琅，这一洋味十足的彩料在瓷器上得到淋漓尽致的发挥。集中西风韵于一身，画尽了皇家身份的高贵与荣华。乾隆珐琅彩瓷是清代康，雍，乾三代珐琅彩瓷中最为精美的巅峰之作，具有古典美的乾隆仕女游园罐是其代表。

 珐琅彩是一种非常名贵的釉上彩，为釉上彩之冠。珐琅彩瓷是清康熙朝中晚期时，将西洋金属胎画珐琅的珐琅彩料，移植到瓷胎上的一个的创举。“清三代”珐琅彩瓷制作十分考究，除预制的上等精细素瓷在景德镇御窑厂按宫廷出样的烧制外，其余的工艺全部在北京的宫廷内务府造办处进行，雍正六年起，始有自制珐琅彩料。珐琅彩瓷器从创烧到衰落都只局限于宫廷之中供皇室使用，是“庶民弗得一窥”的御用品。“清三代”珐琅彩瓷均由宫廷画师彩绘，极费工时，兼之其成本极高，产量不多，多为小件器。没有大的器物造型，绝大多数是盘、碗、杯、瓶、盒、壶，其中碗、盘最多，只是每一品种都有不同的变化。珐琅彩瓷器在胎质的制作方面是非常讲究的。在清代，由于乾隆皇帝喜爱西洋时尚，因而在瓷器上出现了具有西方绘画风格特点的花纹图案。 制作珐琅彩料器极为费工，先在景德镇官窑中烧制呈精美的素胎，再送至宫廷，由宫廷画师画珐琅彩后，在宫中第二次入窑，用低温炉，在600—800度轰烤而成。在白如羊脂玉的素胎上，用各色珐琅彩绘出花卉、花鸟、草虫，皆用工笔画成。清代中期达到绘画烧制的最高水平，非寻常百姓所拥有。因其工艺复杂，成本较高，为皇家宫廷御用。
