【简介】

广东省造光绪元宝寿字双龙币有两种版式，即库平重一两币和库平七钱二币，两种版式的钱币设计风格一样，但是在细节上有很多区别。此藏品为为库平七钱二的版式，由于广东省当时铸造此币的目的是奉献清廷以祝慈禧太后万寿，所以铸额不大，大多奉献给清廷或赠于当时的达官显贵，见于民间流通的很少。此币正面珠圈外上端镌“广东省造”四字，下方为“库平七钱二”五字，左右两侧各铸一蝙蝠图案，珠圈内铸满、汉文“光绪元宝”四字;背面珠圈外铸有双龙图案，里面铸有一圆形“寿”字。
此币有一个显著特色，币面两侧各有一蝙蝠图案，寓有吉祥的含义。因为，蝙蝠的“蝠”字与幸福的“福”字读音相同，而把蝙蝠图案铸在币面上，系取“蝠”、“福”两字谐音。将它与背面的“寿”字相对应取意，便构成“福寿双全”之意。由于以上两种版式的寿字双龙币中，广东省造光绪元宝寿字双龙库平重壹两不便于流通使用，故铸额极其稀少，而实重库平七钱二的钱币为当时通行的壹圆型流通币，其铸造量和存世量均大于一两币。
“广东双龙寿字币”在中国近代官铸机制币中的独特地位是毋庸置疑的，其珍罕性和极高的收藏价值是泉界所一致公认的。这枚广东省造光绪元宝寿字双龙币铜币版面设计优雅，雕刻精良，铜币表面包浆自然，可见岁月流通痕迹，至今仍保存完好，实为不易，具有无法估量的学术与历史收藏价值。
