光绪通宝是清代钱币之一，清德宗光绪年间（1875年-1908年）铸造。光绪通宝面文楷书或楷兼隶、楷兼宋三体；背文满、回文记局、记年、记吉语、记批次等多种形式。不论光绪通宝精彩绝伦的机制钱币，也不论光绪通宝之稀见怪异之版别，单就其普通寻常之大众制钱而言，光绪通宝钱币小巧俊美、端庄秀丽，也堪称翻铸制造之精华，其钱文书法继承和发展了咸丰钱币楷书遗风，纤细挺拔、刚柔相济，又超过了康乾盛世。

光绪钱是中国造币史上首次引进西洋机制造币方法铸造的第一批中国样式（外圆孔方）的行用钱。另有北洋造光绪通宝机制铜币，背福字，光绪通宝面文多为楷书，少数局亦有篆书，背满文记局名，汉文年叫记年钱。计有：泉源苏直浙昌福武南晋陕川广桂云黔津沽漳河吉宁东奉新，重宝面文较通宝钱清秀工整，楷书直读背满文记局名，汉文记值，传世以雕母为珍品，及其稀少，目前多为传世品。
