云南的半开银圆，即清政府所批准的银铸币中的半圆银圆，每两枚抵壹圆银圆一枚使用，最初由湖北运入。到1907年11月，清政府批准设立的云南造币分厂（在今昆明市钱局街）建成投产，云南开始由本省机铸银币。云南造币分厂铸造的银圆，以半圆银圆为主。迟至1914年北京政府颁布《国币条例》时，才算正式有了以晚清所铸的壹圆银圆为本位国币的明确规定，单位定为壹圆，并将其余的几号银圆定为铺币。

They are exquisitely carved, well preserved and of excellent quality.
