清代钱币如星河般灿烂，而要论古钱币的价值，当属清朝光绪年间流通的货币--光绪元宝为最。清朝是我国最后一个封建王朝，其后期的衰落可谓造成了中国历史上最为混乱的时期，清政府的无能显而易见，然穷则思变，洋务运动无疑是清朝统治者做出积极进取的重要举措，而基于洋务运动的影响，铸币业也发生了改变。

清末铜价剧涨，民间毁钱为铜，以获数倍之利，市面出现钱荒。广东因停铸制钱，市面制钱日乏，小额流通十分不便。为救钱荒，同时受香港铜元及外币影响，光绪26年6月，两广总督德寿与前总督李鸿章奏准广东仿香港铜仙铸造机制铜元。

 

此币，重10.8g，直径为32.1mm。钱币正面珠圈内铸“光绪元宝”四字直读;珠圈外环上为满文及户部，左右两侧各有两朵五星小花饰之，下环“当制钱二十文”，字体工整秀丽，端庄大方，有着较高的书法艺术价值。

钱币背面中央铸龙图，龙纹极其壮丽美观，线条粗细有致，深浅分明，铸造工艺高超，神龙纹饰活灵活现，栩栩如生。钱币背面外缘上方书“HU POO”，下缘书“20CASH”英文字样。

 

钱币表面的包浆自然醇厚、历史留下的痕迹清晰可见，历史过渡性自然，历史价值深厚，意义深远，极具艺术观赏价值和历史收藏价值。

Due to the suspension of the casting of money in Guangdong, the market is running out of money, and the circulation of small amounts is very inconvenient. In order to save the money shortage, and at the same time influenced by Hong Kong copper coins and foreign currencies, in June 26, Guangxu, the Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, De Shou, and the former Governor Li Hongzhang played the Guangdong imitation of Hong Kong copper cents casting mechanism.

 

This coin weighs 10. 8G, 32.1 mm in diameter. The four-character direct reading of "Guangxu Yuanbao" is cast in the front bead of the coin; The outer ring of the bead circle is Manchu and the Ministry of the Family. There are two five-star small flower ornaments on the left and right sides. The lower ring is "when the money is made". The font is beautiful, dignified and generous, and has a high calligraphy art value.
The central cast dragon map on the back of the coin, the dragon pattern is extremely magnificent and beautiful, the lines are thick and thin, the depth is clear, the casting technique is superb, and the dragon decoration is vivid and lifelike. Above the outer edge of the coin, the book "HU POO" and the lower edge book "20CASH" are in English.
