王涛，著名人物画家，当代写意人物画坛的代表之一。现任中国画学会副会长。1943年生于安徽合肥 ，原名王守信，号独天斋主，寄醉园主，字问溪亭茶客。1967年毕业于安徽师范大学艺术系美术专业班。1979-1982年中国美术学院（原浙江美院）国画人物研究生班毕业。王涛先生于1985年后，曾出任安徽省书画院院长、安徽省美术家协会副主席、中国美术家协会理事、中国美协中国画艺委会委员、中国国家画院研究员、中国画学会常务理事、中央文史研究馆书画院艺委会委员、国家一级美术师，享受国务院授予有特殊贡献的政府津贴。

Since 1985, Mr. Wang Tao has served as the President of the Anhui Provincial Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, the Vice Chairman of the Anhui Artists Association, a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the China Artists Association, a researcher at the National Painting Academy of China, an executive director of the Chinese Painting Society, and the Central Committee. Member of the Art Committee of the Painting and Calligraphy Institute of the Museum of Cultural History, a national first-class artist, enjoys government subsidies granted by the State Council with special contributions.
