袁大头是民国时期主要的流通货币之一，“袁大头”顾名思义就会想起袁世凯，没错它就是对袁世凯像系列硬币的口语俗称。北洋政府为了整顿货币制，划一银币，以一圆货币为本位货币。根据这一个规定，于1914年到1915年，先后由造币的总厂以及江南造币厂开始来铸造的。由于货币的币面是袁世凯的头像，所以叫做“袁大头”也被叫做“袁头币”。 这枚中华民国八年造袁大头，重26.7g。钱币正面铸有袁世凯戎装左侧面像，上环汉文“中华民国八年造”字样，钱背面中心为“壹圆”二字，旁边环有两株左右交叉的稻穗，下系结带，色泽光鲜自然，纹饰深浅适度。此枚银元品相完好、包浆老道，属于现如今存世量较少的袁大头，值得广大收藏界的朋友投资与收藏。
