唐继尧银币是辛亥革命后军阀割据时期发行流通的产物，是民国时期云南省主要的流通货币之一。1917年8月云南造币厂为纪念共和历史,开铸了唐继尧侧面像纪念银币，后来因“模型未臻完美，不便赓续多铸”之故，导致停铸此币，而流传下来的非常少。
