清代墨盒

铜墨盒被人们称为“铜皮铁骨”，器形独特、墨盒是盛装墨汁之器，晚清、民国时期盛行，旧时读书人书桌上大多有此物，成为当时文人墨客的常用文化用品。因为砚台上磨出的墨汁被风吹后容易干，用铜墨盒来储存墨汁则能保湿不易挥发，随时使用又可方便携带以备书写之需。清代没有现成的瓶装墨汁供应于市，铜墨盒深受文人喜欢。

 墨盒的制作，全部手工打磨，颇费时间。质地好的铜墨盒，往往要几个月以上，甚至一年方能完工。铜墨盒往往是用紫铜做底和内胆，因紫铜含铅量高，性软防腐，所浸墨汁不致变质腐臭。盒身、盒盖在清代主要是黄铜，民国时多为白铜，还有白铜、黄铜、紫铜共用，名“二镶或三镶”，但较为少见。盒盖内嵌端石砚板，作掭笔之用 。盒身内壁上部有一圈薄薄的边沿，与盒盖相吻合，严实合密。这种设计既简单实用，又美观大方，置于案上，稳稳当当，玲珑秀气。 

铜墨盒在我国的兴盛了不足百年，随着硬笔的兴起，自来水笔逐渐成为日常的书写工具，铜墨盒也经历了取代砚台又被墨汁取代的历程。当它已退出历史舞台时，又成为了今天的收藏品，谁又能说不是墨盒的再度兴起呢？他之所以被一些收藏人青睐，这不仅因为它曾经造就许多刻铜高手，还因为墨盒具有的深厚文化内涵。
