光绪元宝是清朝光绪年间流通的货币之一。由湖北两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效。共有十九个省局铸造，除中央户部，地方省所铸铜元，皆在其正面上缘镌写省名。“江南省造”银元于光绪二十三年(1897年)开铸，初铸银元没有干支纪年。因它是江南厂首次铸造的银元，钱币收藏界称其为“老江南”或“江南老龙”。

Guangxu yuan Bao was one of the COINS circulated during the Reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Zhidong, governor of Hubei province and Guangdong Province, took the lead in introducing British coinage machines to cast silver and copper COINS, which were followed by other provinces. The silver COINS of Jiangnan Province were cast in the 23rd year of The Reign of Emperor Guangxu (1897). 专家评述：此枚江南省造光绪元宝。重量：26.8g，直径：3.9cm。银币正面中央珠圈内镌满汉文“光绪元宝”四字，圈外上端镌“江南省造”，左右两端携铸造年份“甲辰”，下端镌币重“库平七钱二分”，背面中央飞龙图，上下皆镌有英文。包浆自然，保存完整，币面文字鼓凸，形制规范，其无论文字和纹饰，皆十分精致，凸凹鲜明，文字笔划和纹饰线条圆滚，显示模具冲压着力深打，致其品相精美无比，其工艺水准也是至今之伪所不能矣。

Expert comment: This guangxu ingot made in Jiangnan Province. Weight: 26.8g, diameter: 3.9cm. The central pearl ring on the front side of the silver coin was engraved with the Chinese character "Guangxu yuan Bao", the upper end of the ring engraved with "Jiangnan Province made", the left and right ends carried the year "A Chen", the lower end engraved with "Kuping seven qian two", the back of the central picture of flying dragon, the upper and lower engraved with English. Wrap pulp nature, preservation is complete, currency text drum protruding, shape and system specification, its no matter text and grain, all very delicate, convex and concave distinct, text stroke and grain line round roll, show die stamping force deep play, resulting in its exquisite phase, its technological level is so far the false can not.
