第一套人民币是1948年12月1日由新成立的中国人民银行总行印制发行的唯一法定货币。1948年，随着人民解放战争的顺利进行，分散的各解放区迅速连成一片，为适应形势的发展，急需一种统一的货币替代原来种类庞杂、折算不便的各解放区货币。为此，1948年12月1日，在河北省石家庄市成立了中国人民银行，同日开始发行统一的人民币。第一套人民币种类繁多，币别复杂，有12种面额62种版别，第一套人民币中名币济济，不少藏品被誉为藏界的精品，像“绝品四珍”和“十二珍品”都是享誉钱币收藏界的名贵收藏品。

一版币四大天王---壹万圆牧马我国第一套人民币中面值壹万圆“牧马图”正面左侧为牧马图，主色为紫色；背面为花符及蒙文行名和面值，主色为茶色。票幅140mm x 75mm；正面边框为130mm x 66mm 三字冠、七号码，冠字只有“ⅠⅡⅢ”一种。由北京印钞厂印制。是一版币“四大天王”之首。
