为了纪念故宫博物院建院90周年盛事，践行国家藏宝于民的惠民政策，北京故宫文化首次推出以古代宫廷经典玉器为原型的文化收藏品。历时1年，在1700万国宝遗珍中，选取乾隆皇帝的贴身玉器为原型，诚邀袁广如、袁霖、江春源、王金兰等多位中国玉雕大师，复原乾隆宫廷造办处皇家玉雕技艺，采用与原品材质一致的玉料，推出和田玉纪念藏品《故宫乾隆三宝》——“太上皇白玉玺”、“龙凤薄胎玉壶”、“吉祥盘龙玉瓶”。
