敦煌画时间最早创于公元366年（另bai有始建于西晋末年及东晋永和九年等说）壁画类别多，故事丰富，作为宗教艺术来说，它是壁画的主要部分，其中包括各种佛像（三世佛、七世佛、释迦、多宝佛、贤劫千佛等）；菩萨（文殊、普贤、观音、势至等）；天龙八部（天王、龙王、夜叉、飞天、阿修罗、迦楼罗(金翅鸟王)、紧那罗(乐天)、大蟒神等等）。这些佛像大都画在说法图中。仅莫高窟壁画中的说法图就有933幅，各种神态各异的佛像12208身。

敦煌石窟是举世瞩目的世界文化遗产，而张大千正是对敦煌艺术进行全面整理、临摹、学习、继承和发扬的第一人。1941年至1943年，张大千在敦煌共临摹作品276件。这一经历，使得张大千的艺术创作产生了极大的转变，人物形象更加饱满生动，线条流畅而富于变化，赋色浓艳又不失端庄，与单纯的文人画风拉开了距离。此画作上人物衣着，神情，神态得充分体现了作者极其高超的艺术手法。内容丰富，实为敦煌画中孤品，后市无限，值得珍藏

Dunhuang paintings were first created in 366 A.D. (there are many kinds of murals and rich stories in Bai. As a religious art, it is the main part of the murals, including various Buddha statues (the third Buddha, the seventh Buddha, Sakyamuni, Duobao Buddha, xianjieqianfo, etc.); Bodhisattvas (Manjusri, Puxian, Guanyin, Shizhi, etc.); Tianlong eight parts (King of heaven, Dragon King, Yasha, Feitian, Ashura, kaluro, jinnara, python, etc.). Most of these Buddha statues are painted in the picture. In the Mogao Grottoes murals alone, there are 933 pictures of Buddha, including 12208 statues of various appearances.

Dunhuang Grottoes are the world's cultural heritage, and Zhang Daqian is the first person to comprehensively arrange, copy, learn, inherit and develop Dunhuang art. From 1941 to 1943, Zhang Daqian copied 276 works in Dunhuang. This experience has greatly changed Zhang Daqian's artistic creation.
