苏葆桢先生是我国著名花鸟画家，其所以出名，是因为他的彩墨葡萄别具一格，在上世纪七十年代于画坛引起不小的轰动。我知道“苏葆桢”三个字，是在一本挂历上，那是一本上世纪八十年代出版的《中国画名家挂历》，上面印的都是全国名家的书画作品，有黄胄、李可染、吴作人、叶浅予、于非闇、俞致贞、刘力上、田世光、黄永玉，其中就有一幅苏葆桢画的彩墨葡萄，珠圆玉润、晶莹剔透。后来在荣宝斋画店里，有幸看到他所画彩墨葡萄的原作，真是幅幅精彩，有装在竹篮里的，也有装在筐里的；有纯水墨技法画成的，也有彩墨的，各具韵味，透出一种浓浓的乡土气息。

我国以葡萄入画的历史悠久，自古文人墨客多以葡萄为吟咏描绘的对象：“野田生葡萄，缠绕一枝高”、“西园晚霁浮嫩凉，开尊漫摘葡萄尝”、“君家小圃占春光，眼看龙须百尺长”、“引蔓牵藤寸管头，扶骊剔蚌出风流。三千龙女抛珠佩，一个儒生拥碧油”、“扶蔬老蔓敷新叶，下盖累累紫水晶”，这些都是古代文人赞美葡萄的诗句，表达了诗人祈盼丰收富裕、吉祥喜庆、多子多福、人丁兴旺的心境。

这幅《硕果累累》纸本设色。画中一架葡萄从顶端垂挂下来，串串葡萄晶莹剔透，犹如一粒粒珍珠；果多叶少，借以突出丰收的景象，非常喜人。画中没有徐渭“笔底明珠无处卖，闲抛闲掷野藤中”的消极与无奈，给人的是一种朝气蓬勃、硕果累累、催人奋进的感受，在画法上，苏葆桢先生以行草笔法入画，用笔潇洒奔放、无拘无束。叶以浓淡点厾法画成，葡萄则以笔蘸淡墨、尖点重墨两笔回抱写之，粒粒相连成串；画时兼顾墨分五色之法，浓衬淡、淡托浓，相映成趣，韵味无穷。整幅作品笔墨酣畅，奔放不失严谨，潇洒不悖法度，构图饱满、气韵生动、情趣盎然，的确不失为苏葆桢水墨葡萄中的精品！具有非常高的收藏价值和升值空间！
