光绪三十年经漕督奏准，在淮安府设局建厂，名为（清江铜元局）。光绪三十一年初铸“光绪元宝”样币，币面上书“清江铜元局开铸”，背为飞龙图，因正、背面均无满文，违反大清章法未获批准，故遗存极罕见。另清江铜元局发行的铜元，币面珠圈内书“光绪元宝”，上书满文“光绪元宝”，“清江”两字分列两侧，币面中心分有花星、无花星两种，珠圈也有大、中、小之别；币背面有飞龙图、水龙图两种，交叉相配版式亦多。清未铜元只冠地名而无省名者，唯清江铜元也！光绪三十二年七月，清江铜元局被裁撤停铸，并入江南造币厂。清江铜元局前后只铸币一年半时间，铸量不多，而今能流传下来的就更是稀少了，故收藏价值颇高。

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, only the name of the place and no name of the province, only Qingjiang Tongyuan! In July of the 32nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Qingjiang copper yuan Bureau was abolished and was incorporated into Jiangnan mint. Qingjiang copper yuan bureau only minted coins for one and a half years before and after the Bureau, and the amount of coins was not much. 这枚光绪元宝“清江”当制钱十文铜币，钱币正面珠圈内铸汉文“光绪元宝”，上环为满文字样，下环计值“当制钱十文”，左右分镌“清”、“江”。钱背正中铸飞龙图，上缘英文纪地“TSING-KIANG”，下缘英文纪值“TEN CASH”，两侧分列花星。钱币正面鲜然可见满汉文化的融合，而钱背却明确标示了西方文化的介入。如此小小钱币，也可管中窥豹，足以代表当时的社会文化之风气。
