【藏品简介】：清代玉扳指又称搬指或班指，源于古代“揲”，《诗经》中曾有“童子佩揲”之语，《说文》云：“揲，射决也，所以钩弦，以象骨系着右巨指”。可见扳指的用途早就为人们所熟知，即是古人射箭时戴在右手大拇指上，用以钩弦的用具，多以象骨制成。最初是为了练射箭习武用的，戴在左手拇指上，这样拉弓射箭的时候可以防止快速的箭擦伤手指，到后来不打仗了，但人们已经渐渐习惯佩戴了。到后来完全就是为了装饰用，象征着权势和地位。所以基于以上几点，琉璃扳指主要有以下几个寓意：在古代，战争是少不了的，作战者需要机智过人才能保全性命。所以扳指作为武器器械是权利，是实力，是健康，是机敏。基于此，将琉璃扳指送给他人的寓意便是健康的体魄、机敏的思维和工作上的顺利，能够像在疆场之上战无不胜攻无不克。
