定窑是宋代名窑之一，穴人笔记屡有称述。宋代定窑以烧、绿釉及白釉剔花器。白瓷装饰有刻花、划花与印花三种。划花装饰南北方瓷窑大都采用，是宋代早期瓷器的主要装饰方法。

定窑始烧于唐，它烧白瓷是受临近的刑窑影响，当时刑窑盛名满天下，定窑及其他瓷窑相继仿烧是很自然的事。但后来定盛而刑衰，至宋时人们只知有定而不知有刑了。而定窑系诸窑也确实形成了自己的一套制瓷工艺与制瓷风格，工整雅素的印花定窑吕器确是陶瓷艺术中的珍品。

However, it was later determined to be prosperous and the punishment was declining. At the time of the Song Dynasty, people only knew that there was a decision but they did not know that there was a punishment. 定窑是宋代著名瓷窑之一，烧瓷地点在今河北省曲阳县漳磁村及东西燕山村。

曲联县宋属定州，定州唐未、五代以来是义武节度使的驻地，是这一地区的政治中心，也是曲阳瓷器的集散地。定窑白瓷对后代瓷器有很大影响。宋以来留下了不少有关它的记载。本世纪20年代未叶麟趾先生第一次对其进行调查，指出定窑在曲阳漳磁村。50年代以来，故宫博物院、河北省文物工作队等单位对它进行了多次地面调查与小规模发掘，基本上了解了定窑的烧瓷历史以及与邻近地区瓷窑之间的相互关系。同时，各地宋墓也出土了不少定窑器，定县两座宋塔塔基出土了一百多件既完整又精美的定窑白瓷，寻于进一步研究定窑的分期断代有极大帮助，江南地区南宋墓与北方地区金墓都出土有定窑白瓷，从而也使定窑废于北宋未年金人南侵之说，得以修正。

Since the Song Dynasty, there have been many records about it. In the 1920s, Mr. Ye Linzhi conducted his first investigation and pointed out that Dingyao was in Quyang Zang Magnetic Village. Since the 1950s, the Palace Museum, Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Task Force and other units have conducted several ground investigations and small-scale excavations on it, basically understanding the history of porcelain firing in Dingyao and the relationship with porcelain kilns in neighboring areas. At the same time, many kilns have also been unearthed in the tombs of the Song Dynasty. More than one hundred pieces of Dingyao white porcelain have been unearthed in two Songtataji in Dingxian County. It is very helpful to further study the staging and cutting of Dingyao. The Southern Song Dynasty tombs and gold tombs in the northern region have unearthed Dingyao white porcelain. As a result, Dingyao was abolished in the Northern Song Dynasty and was corrected.
