黄庭坚，字鲁直，号山谷道人，晚号涪翁，洪州分宁（今江西修水县）人，北宋著名文学家、书法家，为盛极一时的江西诗派开山之祖，与杜甫、陈师道和陈与义素有“一祖三宗”（黄庭坚为其中一宗）之称。与张耒、晁补之、秦观都游学于苏轼门下，合称为“苏门四学士”。生前与苏轼齐名，世称“苏黄”。 黄庭坚擅长行书、草书，楷书也自成一家。学书尤为推崇王羲之《兰亭序》。其有一首赞颂杨凝式的诗可以说明他对《兰亭序》习练体会之深：“世人尽学兰亭面，欲换凡骨无金丹。谁知洛阳杨风子，下笔便到乌丝栏。”这其中不能没有其对王羲之书法学习的深悟。北京大学教授、引碑入草开创者的李志敏评价：“黄庭坚引鹤铭入草，雄强逸荡，境界一新”。

Huang Tingjian, a literary scholar and calligrapher of the Northern Song Dynasty, is the founder of the prosperous Jiangxi poetry school. With Zhang Lei, Chao Buzhi and Qin Guandu, they traveled under Su Shi's gate and jointly called the "Four Bachelors of Su Men". In his lifetime, he was as famous as Su Shi, known as "Su Huang". Huang Tingjian is good at running scripts and cursive scripts, and regular scripts are his own. Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Lanting Pavilion is especially respected in learning books. One of his poems in praise of Yang Ning's style can illustrate his deep experience in the practice of Preface to Lanting: "The world tries to learn Lanting's surface, in order to change all bones without gold. Who knows Luoyang Yang Fengzi, then he goes to Wusilan. This can not be without his deep understanding of Wang Xizhi's calligraphy study. Li Zhimin, professor of Peking University and pioneer of introducing monuments into grassland, commented that "Huang Tingjian leads Heming into grassland, strong and free, with a new realm".

是年八月中秋之夜，月色如银，万里一碧。玄宗在宫中赏月，笙歌进酒。凭着白玉栏杆，仰面看着，浩然长想。有词为证：桂花浮玉，正月满天街，夜凉如洗。风泛须眉透骨寒，人在水晶宫里。蛇龙偃蹇，观阙嵯峨，缥缈笙歌沸。霜华遍地，欲跨彩云飞起。调寄《醉江月》玄宗不觉襟怀旷荡，便道：“此月普照万方，如此光灿，其中必有非常好处。见说嫦娥窃药，奔在月宫，既有宫殿，定可游观。只是如何得上去？”急传旨宣召叶尊师，法善应召而至。玄宗问道：“尊师道术可使朕到月宫一游否？”法善道：“这有何难？就请御驾启行。”说罢，将手中板笏一掷，现出一条雪链也似的银桥来，那头直接着月内。法善就扶着玄宗，踱上桥去，且是平稳好走，随走过处，桥便随灭。走得不上一里多路，到了一个所在，露下沾衣，寒气逼人，面前有座玲拢四柱牌楼。抬头看时，上面有个大匾额，乃是六个大金字。玄宗认着是“广寒清虚之府”六字。便同法善从大门走进来。看时，庭前是一株大桂树，扶疏遮荫，不知覆着多少里数。桂树之下，有无数白衣仙女，乘着白鸾在那里舞。这边庭阶上，又有一伙仙女，也如此打扮，各执乐器一件在那里奏乐，与舞的仙女相应。看见玄宗与法善走进来，也不惊异，也不招接，吹的自吹，舞的自舞。玄宗呆呆看着，法善指道：“这些仙女，名为‘素娥’，身上所穿白衣，叫做‘霓裳羽衣’，所奏之曲，名曰《紫云曲》。”玄宗素晓音律，将两手按节，把乐声一一默记了。后来到宫中，传与杨太真，就名《霓裳羽衣曲》，流于乐府，为唐家希有之音，这是后话。 玄宗听罢仙曲，怕冷欲还。法善驾起两片彩云，稳如平地，不劳举步，已到人间。路过潞州城上，细听谯楼更鼓，已打三点。那月色一发明朗如昼，照得潞州城中纤毫皆见。但只夜深入静，四顾悄然。法善道：“臣侍陛下夜临于此，此间人如何知道？适来陛下习听仙乐，何不于此试演一曲？”玄宗道：“甚妙，甚妙。只方才不带得所用玉笛来。”法善道：“玉笛何在？”玄宗庄“在寝殿中。”法善道：“这个不难。”将手指了一指，玉笛自云中坠下。玄宗大喜，接过手来，想着月中拍数，照依吹了一曲；又在袖中模出数个金钱，洒将下去了，乘月回宫。至今传说唐明皇游月宫，正此故事。那潞州城中，有睡不着的，听得笛声嘹亮，似觉非凡。有爬起来听的，却在半空中吹响，没做理会。次日，又有街上抬得金钱的，报知府里。府里官员道是非常祥瑞，上表奏闻。十来日，表到御前。玄宗看表道：“八月望夜，有天乐临城，兼获金钱，此乃国家瑞儿，万千之喜。”玄宗心下明白，不宽大笑。自此敬重法善，与张果一般，时常留他两人在宫中，或下棋，或斗小法，赌胜负为戏。
