雷公墨，是我国古人对玻璃陨石的称呼。因其常于雷雨天中被雨水从岩层中冲刷脱落出来，以致古人误以为是雷电造成的，是传说中的雷公画符遗留的墨块。在暴雨倾泻后的海南岛，往往会发现地里有一种杏子大小，长约十几厘米，样子奇特的、黑色玻璃质石块。由于它总是在雷雨之后出现，因此被称为“雷公墨”。在进入大气层后熔融，坠地后又快速冷凝，颜色有黑、墨绿、棕褐等，“玻璃陨石”极为珍贵，价格一路上涨，成为如今在古玩收藏市场里，最昂贵的石头，钻石也难以媲美，玻璃陨石可以保持数以十亿年计基本保持不变。

此玻璃陨石重：约367g，整体呈现墨黑色，圆状，内凹，与茶饼的形状极其相似，品相达到了极致的完美，非常难得。表层有大小不等的圆形气泡，有的如月球表面的环形山状图案，熔壳在阳光下闪耀着耀眼光芒，灼烧痕迹明显，气印密集漂亮，是陨石降落过程融化的液质冷却后产物，被称为天外奇物，具有很高的科研、观赏和收藏价值。
