"Military made Sichuan copper coins" is a product of the 1911 Revolution. In December 1911, the "Chengdu mutiny" took place. The Sichuan army, with Yin Changheng and Luo Lun as the chief and deputy governors, replaced the Sichuan army of the Han Dynasty, which had only been established for 12 days. At the beginning of the establishment of the new Sichuan army, it was faced with a financial dilemma of increasing demands and spending. The army quickly took over the Sichuan Chengdu mint and decided to cast "Sichuan copper coins" in case of emergency. In April of the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Sichuan Chengdu Mint was ordered by the Sichuan army to cast "military made Sichuan copper coins" (also known as "Han" copper yuan).

According to relevant data, Sichuan military government copper coins, due to its large number of casters, short casting period, and the original reasons such as mold change and revision during casting, exist in the world in a very complex range, more than 100 kinds of huge. In the center of the obverse pattern of the coin is a large seal character "Han", which represents the meaning of "Han" of the new government.

This Sichuan copper coin was struck in the period of the Republic of China. It weighs about 20g and has a diameter of about 39.3mm. There are four characters of "Sichuan copper coin" in the central bead circle on the obverse, which are arranged up and down, left and right, and the heart is decorated with hibiscus pattern. The upper margin of the bead circle reads "made by the military government", while the lower margin indicates the value of the currency. The lower ring is engraved with the words "when making money, 50 words", and the left and right are decorated with flower star patterns. There is a seal character "Han" in the central circle on the back of the coin, so the coin collectors call it "Han" character copper yuan. There are 18 small circles around the circle of "Han" character, representing 18 provinces at that time. The 18 small circles around the word "Han" are linked into one, implying that the people of 18 provinces unite to fight for "expelling Tartars and restoring China". It bears the distinctive era mark of the 1911 Revolution, witnessing that period of great momentum because of the huge profits of copper coins.

In addition to the Sichuan copper coins made by the military government by Chengdu mint, Sichuan copper coins with the character of "Han" were also made in large quantities by warlords and warlords from all over Sichuan and Gansu at that time, and the local people's fat and paste were collected to cover the military and political expenses. In some places, there were no mints, and there was no way to buy machinery for minting equipment. The traditional foundry method, which had been eliminated in the late Qing Dynasty, was used to make coins because of the poor conditions. Therefore, rough products flooded the market. The Sichuan copper coins made by this method are still common today, and are generally called "sand copper coins" in numismatics. The history of revolution.
