光绪元宝是大清光绪年流通大面值货币之首，是我国首批引进海外技术的印发流通货币，对于现今也蕴藏了一定历史意义。北洋造光绪元宝北洋龙洋在中国近代机器铸币史上属一个大系列，其铸期历时甚长（从光绪22年—光绪34年[1896至1908年]），历经十余载，币模几经更替，即使同一铸造年份亦往往由于修模、币材、工艺技术、工厂管理等诸多因素，造成版别异常繁杂。

清代光绪三十三年(1907年)云南省银元局铸造，俗称“老云南光绪元宝”。钱币正面珠圈内镌满汉文“光绪元宝”四字，珠圈外上端镌汉文“云南省造”四字，下端镌汉文“库平三钱六分”六个字，左右两侧各镌一个七花星。钱背：正中蟠龙图，左右各一七点花星。蟠龙为长须龙，眼神灵异炯炯有神;龙鳞雕刻细密有致，腾云驾雾，身姿遒劲有力;龙爪张扬，神武有力;龙身盘踞太阳，尽展皇家威严大气。此蟠龙图 是中国所有龙洋图案钱币(包括国外发行的所有钱币)中，工艺最精湛，雕工最完美，浮雕感最强烈的品种，镜面平整光滑，纹饰的相惯线，显得非常清晰。

Qian Bei: in the middle of the picture, there are 17 flower stars on each side. Pan Long is a long bearded dragon with bright eyes; the Dragon scales are carved in a fine and delicate way, flying through the clouds, with strong and powerful posture; the Dragon claws are publicized and powerful; the dragon body is in the sun, displaying the royal majesty. This flat dragon picture is the most exquisite, the most perfect sculptor and the most intense relief type among all the Dragon ocean coins (including all the coins issued abroad) in China. The mirror surface is flat and smooth, and the lines of patterns are very clear.
