此藏品为中华民国三年袁大头壹圆银币。因其首铸于民国三年，又有称“民三”者，此类别称由来已久。作为民国军阀银币的领头羊，“大头”系列对钱币收藏爱好者来说，并不陌生。“袁大头”银元的诞生，也是银元发展的必然结果。在辛亥革命后，袁世凯为了解决军费和提高个人政治地位而发行的银元货币，因这些银元铸有他的侧身图像而得名。“袁大头”在货币收藏界被称为银元之宝，它是中国近千种近代银币中流传最广、影响最大的银元品种，也是近代中国币制变革中的一个重要角色。此枚袁大头为中华民国三年，包浆熟旧品相完好。字迹清晰，边齿平整，大小一致，齿深深浅一致 ，背图嘉禾规范清晰，为不可多得的收藏佳品。

民国时期时钱币的换算关系和现在一样，以十进位，1元等于十角，一角等于十分，一分等于十厘。自从《国币条例》公布以后，天津造币厂就开始铸造袁大头1元银元，后来，南京、广东、武昌等造币厂也都开始陆续铸造发行袁大头银元。由于袁大头1元银元币型规整，图案新颖，有明确的重量和成色，容易识别，因此，袁大头银元很快就被老百姓接受，并很快在全国的范围内流通。因袁大头壹圆银币币型划一，成色、重量有严格规定，很快受到了社会认同和接受，在国内金融市场上逐步取代了清朝的龙洋，成为流通领域的主币。试铸币就是没有进入市场使用的。其实民国试铸币就是当时从国外买过来的机器，因为第一次铸造，用银改为铜，用铜水冷却后机器铸压，试铸币是当时的完成品样品。是后续铸银币的对照品，整个国家这种版别才几枚到十几枚而以。机制币的制作生产，从祖模设计、工具模翻制，从铜料熔炼，到压轧铜板、制作铜饼、晃洗、退火、滚边、印花等，前后涉及到的工艺流程有十几个环节，需要不同技术工种紧密配合，可以说机制币的生产过程，就是一件艺术品的绘制过程。这枚中华民国三年袁大头试铸币的大小规格、文字图案和纪地纪值等特点，都与华书所载的中华民国三年袁大头银圆十分一致，因此，可以判定这枚铜币确系同一银模所铸。钱币的正面中间为袁世凯戎装左侧面像，上方为“中华民国三年”，背面图案是两株交叉的稻穗，中央为“壹圆”字样。纹饰线条粗细均匀，笔画堪畅自然，层次感强，视觉效果好，钱文清秀俊逸，浮雕感明显，可见匠师的雕刻工艺十分高超。这枚钱币的铜材质地优良精美，不似私家所铸之钱币。试铸币存世量极少，流传到民间的更少，具有极高的收藏和观赏价值。

The production of machine-made coins involves more than a dozen links from ancestor mould design, tool mould duplication, copper smelting, rolling copper plate, making copper cake, shaking washing, annealing, rolling and printing. The size, character, pattern and chronology of the three-year trial coin coined by Yuan Datou in the Republic of China are in good agreement with the three-year silver coin of Yuan Datou in the Chinese book.
