爵是汉族古代一种用于饮酒的容器。造型多为圆腹，也有个别方腹，一侧的口部前端有流，后部有尖状尾，流与口之间有立柱，侧边供手提拿的部分叫做鋬（pàn）。大约在4300年前~3300年前，陶爵是人们生活中最常用的酒器，直到商周绝迹。铜爵，被认为是贵族使用的酒器和礼器，现知最早的铜爵在夏商之际，商代和西周早期是其流行期，到西周末年基本绝迹。千年后，金石学在宋代盛行，复古风日炽[chì]出现仿古爵。在明清时期发现有银爵、金爵、玉爵、瓷爵、掐丝珐琅爵杯。

Jue is a container used for drinking in ancient Han nationality. Most of the shapes are round bellies, and some are square bellies. There is a flow at the front end of the mouth on one side, and a pointed tail at the back. There is an upright post between the flow and the mouth, and the part on the side for carrying is called pin (pàn). About 4300 years ago ~3300 years ago, Tao Jue was the most commonly used wine vessel in people's life, until it disappeared in Shang and Zhou Dynasties. Bronze Jue, considered as the wine and ritual vessels used by nobles, is known as the earliest bronze Jue in Xia and Shang Dynasties, the Shang Dynasty and the early Western Zhou Dynasty were its popular period, and basically disappeared in the late Western Zhou Dynasty. A thousand years later, epigraphy prevailed in the Song Dynasty, and the archaic Jue appeared in the retro style. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, silver, Jin Jue, jade, porcelain and cloisonne enamel cups were found.

史载，地位尊贵的人用爵，在古代天子分封诸侯时，赐给受封者的一种赏赐物。再后来“爵”就成了“爵位”的简称，“加官进爵”也就由此而来。
