【藏品简介】：四川铜币是由四川铜元演变过来的，清光绪二十八年(1902)，川督岑春煊始议铸造铜元。光绪二十九年(1903)六月，建设四川铜元局，其规模不大，仅就原购铸小制钱的废机修整使用.厂房是机械局的压铜厂和旧的铜钱厂，铸料是机械局的枪弹废壳边渣和宝川局余铜，圯炼净尽。按铜96%、铅0.1%及其他的比例配铸 当五 、 当十 铜元。所铸铜元悉用紫铜,量较好。以致四川铜元成为天下铜元特点之一。四川军发行的钱币，目的在于筹措军饷，维持开支，同时也是知足保路运动的需要，以是 汉 字铜币具有军用钱币和民用钱币的属性。军造四川铜币自1903年六月开铸，至1935年十一月法币先流通才逐渐退出流通领域。
