安徽钱局自光绪二十三年（1897）11月借用广东机器试铸起，至第二年3月正式鼓铸，至光绪二十五年6月遵旨停铸，前后只有一年半时间。但在这短短时间内，共铸造600余万枚银元，平均单日产量在万枚左右。由此可见，当年安徽银元局规模绝非一般。

此安徽省造光绪元宝每元当制钱十文，正面圈内铸有铭文“光绪元宝”四字直读，珠圈外上环分别铸有楷体“安徽省造”字样，左右分饰六星花饰，底部铸货币价值：“每元当制钱十文”，币中心为满文译为“宝安”局。再看钱币背面内圈铸有神龙腾飞图腾，其蟠龙纹鳞甲别致，外圈铸有英文。

The Guangxu Yuanbao, made in Anhui Province, has ten characters for each yuan. The inscription "Guangxu Yuanbao" is directly read in the front circle. The outer upper ring of the bead circle is respectively engraved with the words "made in Anhui Province" in regular script. The left and right sides are decorated with six-star flowers. The bottom of the coin has a value of "ten characters per yuan". The center of the coin is translated into "Bao'an" Bureau in Manchu. On the back of the coin, there is a dragon flying totem on the inner ring, and the outer ring is in English.

整币铸工精美，品相较好，铜币包浆入骨，流通痕迹自然，边齿规整，其无论文字和纹饰，皆十分精到，凸凹鲜明，文字笔划和纹饰线条圆滚，显示模具冲压着力深打。此安徽省造光绪元宝为不可多得之收藏重品，极具收藏价值与投资价值。
